Hey guys,
Long time no talk. We have been going through some rather unpopulated country. We have recently traveled through hells cannon, along a portion of the Lewis and Clark trail, the bitter root valley, up over the continental divide at chief Joseph's pass and down in the big hole. All of it was absolutely beautiful. The mountains, air, streams, passes everything was amazing. We have meet a lot of really nice people like Roy, a guy we meet by Salmon river invited us to spend the night at his camp site which we did. He gave us so good food and COLD beer. Then the next day we took a day off from biking and Roy took us white water rafting on his raft. In the middle of the rafting we hiked up the side of the mountain that surrounds the river and went to a hot spring that poured into a carved out log that acted as a tub. It felt so good to get into warm water. We have meet a whole bunch of other people along the way that gave us food and of course more beer. This trip has defiantly revitalized my faith in humanity.
We are now in the "big sky state" and boy is it not mis-named at all. Everything in big in this state, and if it does not look big, the you are obviously too far away. Like the hills here, don;t look to bad but then you realize you are about 15 miles away from them still. This morning we went to what was the first territorial capital of Montana, Bannack. It is now a ghost town but in its day was quite rough. It, like most towns around here, was form during the gold rush and died out after the gold was all gone. oh well We have to get going so hope to update this again soon.
